It seems to be an even busier weekend than usual around the Denver music scene, with plenty of great shows to choose from. The problem, of course, is in choosing. So here are a few suggestions to help you narrow it down.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 25

Local pop/rock band Rachel and the Kings (featured here) are releasing their debut CD Tonic with a special CD release show at the Bluebird Theater, 3317 E. Colfax in Denver. Opening acts include Eldren, PrettyMouth and Post Paradise. Tickets are $15 each, available from Bluebird Theater. Service charge may apply. Doors at 8:00 PM; show starts at 8:30. Ages 16+.

Local indie-rock/reggae act P-Nuckle are having a CD release show at the Gothic Theatre, 3263 S. Broadway in Englewood. Opening acts include Apex Vibe, Green River Vibe, The Repercussions and No Bueno! Tickets are $10 each, available through Gothic Theatre; service charge may apply. Doors at 7:00 PM; show starts at 8:00. This is an all-ages show!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 26

Ft. Collins-based indie-rock act Fierce Bad Rabbit is headlining at the Fox Theatre, 1135 13th St. in Boulder. Also appearing are The Widow’s Bane and Nautical Mile. Tickets are $8 each, available from Fox Theatre; add $2 for under 21, and additional service charges may apply. Doors at 8:30 PM; show starts at 9:00. Ages 12+.

Reverend Horton Heat is making a tour stop at the Ogden Theatre, 935 E. Colfax in Denver. Opening the show is local act Reno Divorce. Tickets are $25 (plus service charge), available through Ogden Theatre. Doors at 8:00 PM; show starts at 9:00. Ages 16+.

Rob Drabkin‘s 6th Annual Birthday Bash is happening at the Bluebird Theater, 3317 E. Colfax in Denver. Opening acts include SHEL and Dave Tamkin. Local singer/songwriters Wendy Woo and Nina Storey are headlining at Swallow Hill’s Daniels Hall, 71 E. Yale in Denver. Opening act is Katie Cole. Tickets are $20 advance, $22 day of show, available from Swallow Hill. Discount available for Swallow Hill Members. Show starts at 8:00 PM. This is an all-ages show.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 19

The Concert for Cash benefit concert will be held at the Oriental Theater, 4335 W. 44th St. in Denver. Featured acts are Bop Skizzum and John Common & Blinding Flashes of Light. There will also be a Family Show at 2pm featuring Highland Ramblers. Tickets are $15 for the afternoon show, $20 for the evening event, available through Oriental Theater. Service charges apply.
