Local soul/funk band Bop Skizzum is hosting “Nerd Prom 2013” at Summit Music Hall, 1902 Blake St. in downtown Denver. Also performing are Filthy T, The Messers and MEDIC. Tickets are $15 each, available from Soda Jerk Presents. Doors at 7:00 PM. This is an all-ages show!
Utah-based indie rock act Desert Noises is making a tour stop at the Hi-Dive, 7 S. Broadway in Denver. Opening the show is local singer/songwriter Sarah Slaton. Tickets are $10 each, available from the Hi-Dive. Service charge may apply. Doors at 8:30 PM; show starts at 9:30. Ages 21+.
SATURDAY, FEB. 23
Denver Westword is hosting “Artopia”, an annual event celebrating local culture, art, food, film and music, with visual artists, performers and local bands showcased in five venues in the SoCo area. Local bands slated to perform for Artopia 2013 include Fierce Bad Rabbit, Chimney Choir, In the Whale, Kitty Crimes, Wheelchair Sports Camp, Hearts In Space, and many others. Tickets for the event are $25 advance, $25 day of the event, available through Westword. Ticket price offers access to all venues. Artopia 2013 begins at 7:00 PM, and is limited to ages 21+.
