The weekend in Denver is loaded with great live music, as usual–and this weekend’s picks, as you’ll see below, have a fairly strong acoustic theme. If you’re trying to decide where to go to catch awesome music in the Mile-High this weekend, why not start with these?

FRIDAY, JUNE 28

Local garage rockers Colfax Speed Queen are celebrating a vinyl release at the Hi-Dive, 7 S. Broadway in Denver. Also performing are Wire Faces, Pizza Time and Heavy Dose DJs. Tickets are $6 each, available from the Hi-Dive. Service charge may apply. Doors at 9:00 PM; show starts at 10:00. Ages 21+.

Denver’s own Flobots are headlining at the Gothic Theatre, 3263 S. Broadway in Englewood. Opening acts include Wheelchair Sports Camp and Kitty Crimes. Tickets are $20 each, available from the Gothic Theatre or from AXS.com. Service charges may apply. Doors at 8:00 PM; show starts at 9:00. This is an all-ages show!

SATURDAY, JUNE 29

The annual Project Acoustic showcase comes to the Soiled Dove Underground, 7401 E. 1st Ave. in Denver on Saturday. Featured acts include I’m With Her, The James Douglas Show, Lovers & Madmen, Landon Smith, and Grayson Erhard. Tickets are $10 each, available through Soiled Dove Underground. Service charge may apply. Doors at 7:00 PM; show starts at 8:00. Ages 21+.

BONUS PICK: ACOUSTIC CIRCUS CD RELEASE @ TOAD TAVERN JUNE 28-29
The Acoustic Circus is an ongoing acoustic music celebration that takes place weekly at the Toad Tavern, 5302 S. Federal Circle in Littleton. This Friday and Saturday mark a special celebration as the Acoustic Circus releases its second compilation CD, Acoustic Circus Vol. II, featuring some of Denver’s finest musicians. Featured artists at the two-night event include Buckstein, Ryan Chrys, Megan Burtt, Andy Ard, Steve Law Band, Bailout, Your Own Medicine, Clara Finn and numerous others. $8 cover at the door nightly; first 125 each night receive a free copy of the CD.  Music starts at 7:30 PM nightly. Ages 21+.
