I’ve been pretty swamped at work lately, so apologies for the sparse postings around here lately. However, I’m still committed to try and give you a heads-up on some of the more promising live music gigs going on around Denver on the weekends–so if you’re looking for somewhere to go, here are some suggestions.
FRIDAY, FEB. 8
Local dance/punk act The Photo Atlas are having a CD release show at the Hi-Dive, 7 S. Broadway in Denver, to celebrate their new CD Stuck In a Honeytrap. Also on the bill are The Epilogues, In the Whale and New Lungs. Tickets are only $8 (a great deal considering the lineup), available from the Hi-Dive. Service charge may apply. Doors at 8:00 PM; show starts at 9:00. Ages 18+.
The Oriental Theater, 4335 W. 44th Ave. in Denver, is hosting a great lineup of local talent on Friday, including Chimney Choir, Princess Music, Chella Negro, Two-Tone Wolf Pack and Sawmill Joe. Tickets are $10 each (plus service charge), available from The Oriental Theater. Doors at 7:00 PM; music starts at 8:00. Ages 16+.
SATURDAY, FEB. 9
Local singer/songwriter Elise Lieberth is having an album release show at The Walnut Room, 3131 Walnut St. in Denver. Also performing are Dave Sonner & The American Campus, Andrea Ball and Katey Laurel. Tickets are $10 each, available from the Walnut Room. Doors at 7:30 PM. Ages 21+.
Local indie-folk duo I’m With Her (aka Angie Stevens & Haley E. Rydell) will be performing at the D-Note, 7519 Grandview in Olde Town Arvada. $7 at the door; show starts at 8:30 PM. D-Note is all-ages.
Happy weekend!
